Public pianos in New York City

I should be practicing piano a lot this weekend, since I didn’t put in as much time last week as I would have liked.
But it’s so nice outside! It’s hard to stay inside plunking away when it’s in the 80s and sunny.
Fortunately, not everyone needs to make this choice between enjoying a lovely summer day and playing piano, thanks to this Sing for Hope project that put 60 pianos in public spaces all over New York.

There are 60 pianos in public spaces all around New York until July 5. Click here to find one near you -- like the one about five minutes from our apartment.

So while I’m not keen on having strangers listen to me playing scales, I just might stroll down to one of the pianos that’s literally about a 10 minute walk from our apartment and take advantage of the chance to soak up vitamin D while building my musical skills.
