If you haven’t already seen this video of pastor Joe Nelms giving thanks in prayer before a NASCAR race in Nashville, you’re in for a treat.

I grew up Catholic and have heard a whole lot of prayers and invocations in my life — but have never heard such impassioned thanks raised up to God for the power and performance of race cars, for General Motors and for the pastor’s smokin’ hot wife.
For the last two years, I’ve done daily posts leading up to Thanksgiving as a personal exercise in gratitude. But I didn’t want to wait until November to share this prayer, so consider it a booster shot of being grateful and an excellent reminder that you don’t have to give thanks the way everyone else does.

If you’d like to compare Pastor Joe’s prayer to Ricky Bobby’s in Talladega Nights, here’s a clip:

You’ve been warned that it’s an off color Will Ferrell movie — it goes without saying that it’s not suitable for work.
