These self-paced online courses will help you jumpstart the changes you want to make.
Courses
I love working with coaching clients one on one to help them make meaningful changes in their lives, but that’s not the right choice for everyone.
Maybe your time or budget are limited, or you just prefer to work solo right now. Maybe all of the above.
For you, I offer these affordable online classes.
You can enroll in a course as an alternative to 1:1 coaching, to supplement your coaching progress with me or another coach, or to test out what it might feel like to work with a coach. You get to decide how your coursework fits into your life.
If you’d like to live a happier, healthier and more meaningful life, you can get started today!
FREE WORKSHOP SEPT. 26
Join me to learn quick, easy ways to manage your stress level, and practical ways to prevent your tension from rising in the first place.
There’s no charge. You just have to register to join me on Thursday, Sept. 26 at 9 p.m. Eastern/ 8 p.m. Central/ 7 p.m. Mountain/ 6 p.m. Pacific/ 3 p.m. Hawaii.
A couple of important caveats:
- Nothing we’ll do together changes the situations that are stressing you, whether that’s politics, war, inflation or too much to do at work — but by regulating your nervous system, you might have more capacity to think strategically about solutions.
- Self care is not a substitute for working with a mental health professional — I think of the simple techniques I’ll show you like brushing and flossing, which you do for maintenance between visits to the dentist.
You aren't alone if you're disengaged at work
Course: I hate my job!
Are you bored, unmotivated or checked out at work?
Or are your feelings more intense: Do you dread going to work for an abusive boss, or scream and cry after a day of a hostile work environment?
What do you do about that misery? It’s probably tempting to polish your resume and go hunting for a new job.
But will that new job will be any better than where you are today?
Starting with a clear understanding of why you hate your job can help you create a vision for a job you don’t hate.
what do you hate about your job?
List the specifics. Not just “my boss is a jerk,” but “my boss takes credit for my work and never says thank you,” or “my boss expects me to be on call 24/7.”
what do you love about your job?
Even the worst job has some upsides. Do you like your coworkers? Are you well paid? Do you love the coffee shop you stop at in the morning?
how does your job fit into your life?
You’ll look at your whole life, including your health, your relationships and your fun and recreation. Does your job support or interfere with your overall happiness?
what are your core values?
What matters most to you? What motivates you? Do you crave challenge, recognition, connection, stability, being of service … you’ll identify what you need most.
how does your job fit with your values?
Often when a coaching client is feeling frustrated or unfulfilled, it’s because they aren’t living in alignment with their values. You’ll check to see if that’s happening for you.
write a vision for your perfect job
Craft a vision informed by what you love and hate about your current job, so your work is in alignment with your values and supports your life in the way you want.
Work within the uncertainty in the world to create a better life for yourself
Course: Create your life vision
I am a big believer in the power of setting clear goals and writing them down. Whether you’re a linear thinker who appreciates a good project plan, or you take the more mystical “power of attraction” approach, it’s so helpful to declare your desires.
I think it’s more important than ever to create a clear vision for ourselves, so we don’t lose sight of our needs and our values as we navigate uncertainty in the world. We don’t control all the external chaos but we can take charge of how we live and how we feel.
This course will guide you to create your vision for how you want to live your life in the coming year, with a plan that’s tailored to what’s happening in your world and the values that speak to your heart.
what are your constraints?
What’s preventing you from living the life you dream of? Is it personal responsibilities like your family’s needs or systemic or cultural issues?
what’s changed for the better?
So much has transformed in the world. Do you have opportunities now that you didn’t before working from home became accepted or before the great resignation?
how do you feel about your life today?
You’ll evaluate how fulfilled you feel with each area of your life on a scale of 1-10. That’s your personal 10, not society’s idea of perfect or your parents’.
what are your core values?
What matters most to you? What motivates you? Do you crave challenge, recognition, connection, creativity, being of service … you’ll identify what you need most.
how have you done setting goals before?
If it was easy to follow through on your goals, you wouldn’t be here. What have you done that’s worked before, and what’s kept you from success?
prioritizing your next steps
There are many things you could do, but you’ll create a realistic plan by choosing a few priorities with the potential to move you closer to your personal fulfillment 10.
Self-paced modules make it easy for you to work the way that suits you best
Choose your own adventure
You’ll get access to all the worksheets and videos all at once. You can dedicate an afternoon to doing a course all at once or you can spread the modules out over several days, if that fits your life better. Do them in order or bounce around.
Choose the way you like to work. Each segment includes written instructions, a video and a worksheet. Everyone learns differently and we all have our own unique demands on our time and energy. I suggest you set aside some quiet time where you focus on yourself, but you can listen to the video while you’re exercising or on the go, if you’re more of a podcast person. You can sleep on the exercises or talk them over with friends. Create the experience that meets your needs and preferences.
Get interrupted? Pause the video for a minute or a week. Chip away at your worksheets as you have time. You control your progress.
Redo a lesson when you need it. As your life shifts and evolves, you might find a new need for a module from a class. That could be a refresher on the idea or perhaps now your circumstances call for different thinking. Repeat whenever you need it.
