I am grateful for: good food and plenty of it

The AgChat Foundation is urging people to share their gratitude for good food and the people responsible for it through the #foodthanks campaign.

On Thanksgiving, many of us will spend the day feasting on a ridiculous amount of food, only to lay around later groaning that we’re about to burst.

While we gorge ourselves silly, the AgChat Foundation is urging us to give thanks for that abundance of food — and for the farmers responsible for producing it. They explain:

A group of farmers created the AgChat Foundation after connecting through the now highly visible “#AgChat” community on Twitter, a weekly moderated chat where agriculturists discuss various issues, tell their farm stories and identify ways to connect with people outside of agriculture. The Foundation strives to educate and equip “agvocates” with the skill set needed to engage on Twitter, Facebook, blogs, YouTube, LinkedIn and other social media services, giving them the knowledge to unlock new tools to effectively tell their story. I’m grateful to have the means to enjoy abundant food and to have the choice to buy locally produced, organic food, supporting local agriculture.
I’m grateful I don’t have to go to bed hungry.
I’m grateful for the people who work hard to provide the amazing selection of produce, cheese, bread and more at our farmers markets.
And, of course, I’m grateful to get to enjoy good food today in the company of good friends.

I'm Colleen Newvine, and I would love to help you navigate your evolution or revolution
Let’s work together
