Blogversation 2012: What have you enjoyed so far?

Throughout this year, several bloggers will engage in a conversation here and on their blogs — asking questions of each other and responding. Others are absolutely welcome to join the conversation, as well. Learn more about the ladies of Blogversation 2012.
We’re more than a quarter of a way through the year and we’ve just completed a full rotation of every participant in Blogversation posing a question of the others, so it seems a good time to take a step back to assess how it’s going.
I’m loving this project because I love bringing different voices and perspectives to my blog. Every week I look forward to the question that a Blogversationist will pose, showing me something about what she’s curious about or what she’s thinking about. I enjoy seeing the comments come in, and how the feedback makes me think about the question differently.
I also love that the women of the Blogversation aren’t just a half dozen of my besties who I’d talk to every week anyway — some I know well, some I barely knew before the project, some go way back, some are new friends. Having this long-distance conversation has helped me get to know them, and it’s also been fabulous to hear ideas that I might not get over brunch with the people I usually see.
So thanks to the Blogversationists for one quarter down — and before we go on to another: What have you enjoyed so far about the Blogversation? A particular post or comment, a theme, something it’s done for you?

I'm Colleen Newvine, and I would love to help you navigate your evolution or revolution

I’ve enjoyed them all, as well the idea of sharing your blog as a forum for other voices in general. Recently, I liked Kim’s post about saying yes to life, even (especially) during tough times. She took a huge philosophical-spiritual idea and served it up in an uncomplicated, sincere and meaningful way. It shifted my view that day, and still resonates. So thank you Kim, and thank you, too, Maria, Lesley, Eleanor, Amy, Jennifer, Lauren, and Colleen. You’ve got a good thing going already, and it’s still pretty early in the year. Keep up the good work!

Really smart, Colleen, to pull different minds together this way. Thank you for providing leadership and cheerleading here! On a personal level, this project has served as a HUGE kick in the arse in terms of motivation to generate content, get more involved with Twitter, ask and respond to my own and others’ questions, step outta my little box on the internet and think about a group of minds (plus wonderful others!) who meet weekly. With Blogversation, my world has become bigger and more interesting.

Responding in August to an April post (not my a shining moment in “timeliness”) … This weekend I went to a Minnesota Twin’s game for a work event. I posted a picture on Facebook of the field from my seat. I was scrolling through and saw another photo of the same game in virtually the same location by a friend of my from elementary school that I hadn’t seen in over 8 years. I spotted her in the crowd and texted her, “turn around.” She did and I was waving my hands – we waved and texted to meet later in the game. We chatted for a few innings and met for dinner the following morning. We picked up on conversation like not a moment had passed. I feel the same about Blogversation. I’m here to pick it up again and it’s great to connect with thoughtful, curious women around the country.
